Have you tried turning it off and on? If you've also been searching in vain for that magic button on your back, we're here to offer a little spring upgrade. We retune our senses to the spring frequency and reconnect… to ourselves. It can be done even without running a half-marathon and fasting with fresh juices.
Supporting the liver instead of drastic detoxes
The vision of the approaching hot girl summer tempts us to - often quite intense - cleansing detoxes and radical box diets. We see the problem with such marketing actions and offers is that they are not tailored to customers and do not take into account individual needs or weakening of the organism (from stress to hormonal imbalance).
Instead of a “detox”, focus on the body’s natural cleaner. What can you do for your liver this spring?
- Reduce the consumption of gluten, lactose and alcohol, at least for three to four weeks. On the contrary, replace them with leafy and cruciferous vegetables, beetroot or fiber.
- Bet on fermented foods. Kimchi or sauerkraut or kombucha will support the liver and intestines. And good digestion often has more of an effect on libido than you might think!
- Encourage detoxification with exercise, by sauna or other “sweaty” pleasure.
Trust us that even small changes in diet work wonders. When you relieve your liver, you will quickly feel a surprising surge of energy.
Touch to awaken sensuality
In winter, we huddled in coats and blankets. Now we happily shed the excess layers and expose our skin to the sun. This is a great impulse to focus on touch and to experience it to the maximum (alone and together).
What can you try?
- Try to be aware of touch during activities that are not directly related to sex, such as washing your head, walking barefoot, or tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear. Conscious touch brings us back to presence and the body. It is a way to reconnect with yourself. P.S.: Even wearing Venus Balls is a form of unusual touch!
- Perceive autoerotics as part of self-care. And give them equal priority. If you are looking forward to a free evening at home, block it in your calendar with a placeholder and promise yourself that you will not let anyone take the date with myself. You wouldn't leave your beast standing helpless in front of the theater either, so don't do it to yours either vibrator.
- Combine touch with breath. Place your palm on your lower abdomen and breathe into it. Gentle, deep breathing activates the pelvic floor, perfuses the area and calms the agitated mind. A great prerequisite for the b(l)oom of sexual appetite.
Follow your nose
Smell is also a great channel that can switch us into spring mode. Swap your year-round scent for something fresh with a story. We were interested, for example, by the Czech brand Ourté Fragrances, which creates niche fragrances inspired by emotions and the landscape, or the Czech perfume house Pigmentarium.
Scent can transform not only your personal vibe, but also your entire home. Create an atmosphere, calm down or, on the contrary, excite. Try, for example, natural diffusers, scented oils or sprays with essences such as vetiver, citrus or rosemary (which we also use in our lubricating gel Rosemary). Even our nostrils deserve a spring reboot.
Less scrolling, more presence
We have to repeat the word detox in connection with digital technologies. After all, 60% of people admit that the mobile phone negatively affects their partner life. For some couples, excessive screentime even results in less sex. But it doesn't only apply to phones and couple cohabitation, binge-watching series on streaming platforms can be just as problematic.
How to limit blue light and cheap dopamine?
- Introduce technology-free zones (and time slots). Try not to take your laptop to bed and dine with one eye on the screen. If you have your phone on your nightstand for an alarm clock, don't jump on it right after you wake up.
- Swap Netflix for a book. If you're lacking inspiration, look around for a book club where you read one book a month and then discuss it with others. Or start your own with friends and family.
- Plan an offline evening or weekend. White Lotus fans must have felt a nervous tingle in their stomachs when the series family gave up their cell phones for a week. We're not pushing you to do it, but why not switch off for at least a few hours? Easter and May holidays are a great opportunity to disconnect.
Refresh your body with movement
Longer days, more favorable temperatures and weather conditions, flowering trees... finding time and taste to move stiff bones is simply easier in spring. Remember which physical activities bring you the most joy. And don't worry if they don't include the ubiquitous running or cycling. The same portion of endorphins will be flushed out by a walk in nature or roller skating. Czech trails still have gaps in their length and quality, but try taking a friend to Germany for a weekend at the Lužické jezery or completing the route from Děčín to Dresden.
Due to the spring April weather, we recommend that you also have indoor activities in reserve, so that you don't sit at home with your hands in your lap during rainy weeks. Our year-round evergreen is yoga (as you must have noticed in our interview with instructor Baci). We also enjoy the trendy barre, in which elements of yoga and pilates are combined with strength training.
