From Whoop·de·doo to Champagne

Written by: Anna Marešová

Making my own jewelry was my little secret wish. Even before Tomáš approached me to design a jewelry collection for his brand MOOYYY, I had one idea in my head. But I'm not a jeweler, making jewelry is a completely new industry for me, and of course it's not enough for me to design one ring, but I want the whole collection right away and in top quality. You would have to find a manufacturer and make your own way, which I found completely unrealistic with my busy schedule.

So this offer was an impulse like crazy. And even though I was a bit worried because I am not a jeweler, I immediately agreed to work with MOOYYY . But Tomáš's vision was towards more spectacular and heavier jewellery, his inspiration led us all the way to Egypt. And because I always prefer when the client chooses the version of the design themselves and is not forced to do so, I ended up working out two designs or as I say directions. Egypt, at Tomáš's request, and then the one I had in my head and was really made for me with the ease that belongs to this fresh brand. To my delight (and Tomáš's surprise), Tomáš clearly chose the latter. One that was inspired by the subtle wire that has to handle crazy pressure.

I'm not the type of designer who goes to the forest to get inspired by nature.

I'm interested in practical and technical things. And so I like to observe different mechanisms that work and I like to use them where no one would expect them. And I feel the same way about the Champagne collection. I originally called it Champagne Kisses, but in the end the name was shortened for practical reasons and I think it suits the jewelry.

A moment full of sparkle and elegance. The Champagne jewelry collection contains joy, sparkle and carefreeness that you can enjoy every day.

It started innocently enough. I got an "engagement" ring. Namely, it was a ring that a friend found among the cat heads in front of U Bílé kuželkyafter an argument with me, when he went there for a beer to calm down or to annoy me even more, I don't know... maybe both together. God only knows how that ring got there. I had it on my finger this morning. It fit perfectly on my ring finger, but it broke after two days. It was a wire made of steel, and they say no one will ever connect it again. When I asked my dad if he would go and connect it somehow, he told me that maybe yes, but that it is steel that will crack again in three days anyway. Such a relationship parallel.

So I was walking around with a cracked ring of steel that scratched me a lot and kept forcing me to play with it. A friend of mine noticed this and asked what kind of wire I had and if it was from champagne or something. And that was the moment. The wire is quite subtle and at the same time strong enough to hold the plug under the pressure of sparkling wine. My idea of jewelry was clear. A drink that symbolises fun, lightness, sparkle and at the same time tastes so great and makes you feel carefree when you drink it. A drink with a beautiful colour that is simply fun. And so the idea for the Champagne collection was born in my head, which is light, subtle and at the same time very strong and bright. She was born in soft gold, pink and silver tones.

Gold jewelry pieces from the Champagne collection, including twisted rings, earrings, and a necklace inspired by champagne wire.

Details inspired by the subtle but strong muselet wire. Celebrate lightness of being and elegance with handcrafted jewelry from the Champagne collection.

Braided wire is a beautiful technical thing that has a clear character and an unambiguous function. I was very happy to be able to convert it into the shapes that are required from jewelry and to make the entire collection from noble materials with a fine surface. The collection is made by hand. They are actually two linked collections. One is inspired by the "Muselet" wire, the other by the "Bouchon" cap and plug. They can be combined at will, from rings to earrings. In total, three earrings, two necklaces, a bracelet and two sets of rings were created.

Ladies, enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with champagne, Whoop·de·doo… and with a new, actually engagement collection.

With love,
Anna

P.S.: After a long time, I collaborated on the project with my colleague Sergej Kuckir, and it was all nice and without snags. Just a dream project. I thought it was suspicious. And yeah, yeah. There was a virus that complicated the whole thing at least a little bit before the actual launch. It turned out hopeless, but in the end we introduced her. Two months later. But still!
